Power Flushing

What is Power Flushing?

Power flushing is the most efficient and effective method of cleansing your complete heating system.

Signs that you might need a power flush

There are a number of signs to look for before deciding to go ahead with the power flushing process. These include

  1. Cold areas on radiators,
  2. Excessive noise from the boiler or the heating system pump,
  3. Discoloured water when you bleed the radiators and the
  4. Slow warming of the heating system.

How do you do it?

We connect a low pressure high flow rate pump to your heating system; because it is a low pressure pump it can be used on any type of wet heating system no matter what fuel is used.

We use a water/chemical mix and force this around your system breaking down blockages and any sludge build up and return any product found back to the pump reservoir where it can be safely removed.

The clean system is then re filled and treated with a good quality central heating inhibitor to prevent any further decay.

We highly recommend fitting a system filter, this is a non mechanical device that helps to keep everything clean, it can add years to your heating system.

What if I don’t have a power flushing?

The build up of sludge in hot water central heating systems is inevitable, no matter what fuel source is used. Over a period of time this sludge can block pipes and prevent the radiators from distributing heat around your house.

Sludge can also seriously affect the efficiency of your central heating system; it will lead to higher fuel bills and can bring forward the time when you need to replace some or all of the system.
